The Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists (TBABJ) is excited to present its 7th Annual Griot Drum Awards & Scholarship Banquet.

This year, the Griot Drum Awards will be announced during a gala dinner at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 15 in The Nielsen Company’s national headquarters, 501 Brooker Creek Blvd., Oldsmar. We plan to award $5,000 in college scholarships, along with about two-dozen awards to area journalists who have excelled in covering people of color.
